Our Story

Juan Padilla established JP Gunite in 1990 as a contractor specializing in gunite work for swimming pools. In 2001, he introduced volumetric mixers to improve the gunite process, unaware that this would lead the company in a new direction in the years to come. During the financial crisis in 2008, many people were losing their homes, causing them to avoid constructing swimming pools. Due to this new economic climate, JP Gunite’s once busy schedule turned idle. By 2010, Juan realized his volumetric mixers toted a much greater potential. Juan’s hard work began to pay off when bigger contractors began to notice the benefit that the volumetric mixers brought to the industry. JP Gunite landed its first substantial job on Harbor Drive near the Port of San Diego with Par Electrical Contractors. Fast-forward to today, JP Gunite has rapidly gained recognition and continues to grow their reputation as one of the best methods for encasing pipeline.
